# AI WorkStudio

> AI WorkStudio is a free, open-source desktop app (macOS, Windows, Linux) that brings local AI apps — brain, Lumina, OpenCue and any app you add — into one place: their status, notifications and updates, one shared MCP server for your agents, a chat over the models you already have and up to six terminals. Everything runs locally; it has no accounts and no servers of its own.

Key facts:

- Install on macOS/Linux: `curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Lautaro005/workstudio/main/install.sh | sh` (add `-s -- --all` to also install brain, Lumina and OpenCue).
- Install on Windows (PowerShell): `irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Lautaro005/workstudio/main/install.ps1 | iex`.
- Commands: `workstudio` (open), `workstudio update`, `workstudio uninstall`, `workstudio mcp [--only brain,lumina,web]`.
- One MCP server, `workstudio`, carries every app's tools named `<app>__<tool>` (for example `brain__search_knowledge`, `lumina__get_meeting`), plus `web__search` and `web__fetch`. It connects in one click to Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and Windsurf, keeping a `.bak-workstudio` backup.
- Chat (like Claude's): projects with instructions, knowledge files and a working folder (read-only or editing), file and photo attachments, skills (SKILL.md, turned on with /), artifacts in a side panel (documents, code, HTML, SVG), @mentions to hand a message to an OpenCue agent, brain / Lumina / web search pills, edit and regenerate.
- Chat models: Claude Code (Opus/Sonnet/Haiku latest and versions such as Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5, Haiku 5.5, Fable 5.1), Codex (the account's models plus known GPT versions, with a "latest" per family), Gemini CLI, any Ollama model and OpenCue agents.
- Data lives in `~/.workstudio` (override with `WORKSTUDIO_HOME`). Add your own apps in `~/.workstudio/apps.json`.
- License: Apache-2.0 with the Commons Clause (free to use, modify and share; not to sell).
